Wall Repair & Patching in Raleigh & the Sandhills

Holes, cracks, nail pops and water-stained drywall patched, sanded and blended so the repair disappears under the paint — in Raleigh and all around it.

Most wall damage is small, and most of it gets ignored longer than it should. A doorknob punches a hole in the drywall behind it, a crack opens up over a door frame as the house settles, a nail pop pushes a little bump through the paint, or a slow leak upstairs leaves a brown ring on the ceiling below. None of it is a big job by itself, but a patched wall that was not sanded and blended right shows up under any light, and that is the difference between a repair that disappears and a patch that just moves the problem to a different spot on the wall. Hallway corners and stairwell walls take the worst of it, since that is where furniture gets carried through and where a hand reaches out for balance going down the stairs.

Alexis handles wall repair as its own job or as the first step before a room gets repainted — his own words for it are "reparaciones interiores en las paredes," and it's among the services he gets called for most. Send a photo of the damage by WhatsApp for a no-obligation quote, and he'll tell you what the repair actually needs before anyone shows up. English-speaking customers can write in English; the page you're reading works in both languages.

What's included

Repair starts with cutting the damaged section back to solid drywall around the hole, crack or stain, since patching over anything soft or crumbling never holds. A new piece of drywall gets cut to fit the opening and secured to whatever is behind it. The seams around the patch get covered in mud, left to dry, and coated again so the patch sits flat instead of leaving a ridge you can feel with your hand. Nail pops get set below the surface and covered the same way, so the fastener stops working its way back out through the paint. Once the mud is fully dry, Alexis sands the whole area smooth, feathering the edges out so they blend into the surrounding wall instead of stopping in a hard line. A coat of primer goes over the bare patch before paint, since bare drywall and painted wall absorb paint differently and would otherwise show through as a dull spot once the color goes on. Water-stained areas get an extra check before any of this starts, since sealing in a spot that is still damp only hides the stain for a short while before it comes back through.

Wall Repair & Patching by city

A new build in Raleigh, a repaint in Cary, a patched wall in Durham and a weathered exterior in Fayetteville each need a different plan — and we handle all of them.

Common questions

Will you be able to see the patch after it's painted?
The point of the repair is that you can't. The patch gets mudded, sanded and primed so it blends into the wall instead of standing out.
What causes cracks over my doors and windows?
Houses settle over time, and the drywall above doors and windows is often the first place it shows. It's a normal repair, not a sign of a bigger problem.
